Happy Independence Day!

Thanks. Just a quiet day around the rancho with grilled burgers in a few minutes. No fireworks display downtown as usual due to the drought and the burn ban. But I expect we will hear firecrackers after dark, as always, when it's harder to get caught. And we'll watch them on the tube from elsewhere where they've had more rain.

Kids will be kids. You cannot really suppres the use of firecrackers.

Thanks, Snoopy.  4th of July here in Washington was rather hot and humid, with threat of thunderstorms with downpours like the ones we had the previous day. Forturnately the rain held off till about midnight and all the fireworks celebrations including the big one down on the National Mall came off all right. As usual I was lazy and watched that celebration and really super fireworks show from New York City on TV.
Stayed up late and was sleepy at work the next day.

Ach, Washington weather. My recollection is that there is no such thing as good weather in Washington, David. Nothing personal, of course ;)
