Tarantula's hair attack - a hairy story for pet lovers

People who get the shivers over tarantulas likely imagine a gigantic bite from a fanged mouth. But as one man recently found out in England, tarantulas are more likely to defend themselves by shooting a mist of microscopic barbed hairs straight into your eye.
The story of a British guy who kept the tarantula for a pet and almost lost his eyes for the trouble is quite amazing. To keep a tarantula is pretty unorthodox by itself, so being a blind owner of one could be a remarkable thing indeed, at least for TV talk shows.

Still, thanks but no thanks: I shall stick to cats. You and they know where we all stand in our relationship, at least.
