64-bit architecture in the iPhone 5s - not funny at all

The small brouhaha was caused by Anand Chandrasekher, Qualcomm CMO, saying about 64-bit computing adopted by Apple for iPhone 5s "There’s zero benefit a consumer gets from that". There are two things wrong with that. First of all, it is not 0 benefit - it is 00.

Besides, it is not funny at all. When the semi-sentient iPhone 7 will take charge of the phone calls, bank operations, love life and other personal affairs for its owner and when fully sentient 128-bit based iPhone 9 will decide that there is no need at all of the protein-based life forms, we shall know better.

Only if they start creating their own apps.

I hope they develop an exclusive one for the oeuvre of Phillip Roth, the tribe's latest Nobel for lit. I always liked his humor, particularly "Portnoy's Complaint," which scandalized a generation (my parents') back in the 60s. Nowadays it's pretty tame. In honor of his latest achievement I have begun reading his The Breast, a timely riff on Kafka. I will report back to the Elders when I finish it.

Nah, Roth is still too non-conventional to be considered for Nobel. Although some of his books show greatness without peers. Like The Human Stain, for instance.

Okay, I'll try that one, too.

Worth it for sure.
