The Winners of the Inaugural Walter Duranty Prize

The field is quite crowded, so it's not an easy choice, but with some effort...

Meanwhile, Hez's CFO apparently has defected to Israel:

Yep. I hope it will be a step toward improvement of financial ties between us and Hezbollah ;-)

A good idea and one that will have plenty of nominees in years to come. Though all the runners up and the winner (especially the winner!) deserved their places, would have like to see at least one nominee from the Right. Surely either Fox News or Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) or the Moony-owned Washington Times have produced at least one piece of idocy worthy of mention.
Last I heard, Walter Duranty's name was still up on the wall the New York Times has of its reporters that have won the Pultizer Prize!
Quite a different newspaperman and musican, Daniel Pearl, is being honored this month, the anniversary of his birth. Go to http://www.danielpearlmusicdays.org/events.php
for the list of the more than 1500 events in 60 countries.
Also, my Mom forwarded this video of a Russian Flash Mob performing Irving Berlin's "Putting on the Ritz" at http://www.youtube.com/embed/KgoapkOo4vg?rel=0

Thanks for the links, David. And as for Duranty prize - since he was a lefty, it makes sense not to give it to right wingers. Lefties will have to invent their own. Say Dan Qayle prize or something.
