I didn't realize FS lived in the vicinity of the killing. I don't think he ever adequately addressed just why the local coppers (and male neighbors, for that matter) hung back in safety while the killing went down and continued to do so in the aftermath while only one lone woman dared approach the murderers. It doesn't speak well of the manhood of the British male, a manhood once not in question whatsoever. If he allowed comments on his blog (I'm always suspicious of bloggers who do not, frankly) I'd bring this argument up there instead of at your place.

I can't rightly call self an expert in British bobbies' customs, but from what I understand a normal patrolman is not armed and is hardly trained to deal with armed terrorist. Your question about why the present males didn't intervene still remains valid, but what do I know?

Seems to me only a coward would use the excuse of not being armed. The murderers used edge weapons. How hard could it have been to find a long, pointy stick?

What can I say. I really don't know about the situation. For instance, when did the crowd around the scene gather, when have the first cops appeared etc.

As usual the snooze media beat the cops to the scene. They were videotaping the perps with their bloody hands and Koran quotations and were continuing to videotape when the lone woman walked up to them. I suppose the Woolwich coppers could have been off doing the Brit version of donuts, but the video shows a crowd not far off in the background.

That true, however it still doesn't show the precise timeline. Meaning who was in the area when the murder was done.

More on topic: Have you noticed Greenwald's involvement in the so-called NSA "scandal"? Methinks the arch Leftist in the arch Leftist rag is trying to help Wormtongue change the subject. Considering his supposed revelation is only about six years old.

Thanks for the pointer, I looked it up. Strangely, not many of the articles mention the 2006 story. Go figure...
