Not being a fan of the zombie box, I am nevertheless familiar with this iconic image of the CNN anchor. You just can't hide from it forever. But an anchor is, after all, mostly repeating what other people put on his table. And here is what happens when he gets to talk for himself. Starting with a show of ignorance:

The whole exchange is, of course, a gruesome reminder of the "don't drink and tweet" doctrine for public figures, but it also reminds me of a Russian proverb "What a sober person has in mind, a drunk has on his tongue" - a rather slavish translation, but at least it conveys the contents.Oh, and I recall now what Clancy's mug reminds me of most:
As for that "cripple on the edge of the herd" remark: sometimes one doesn't even notice...
