How I, an Australian Jewish-atheist, became a German citizen and forgave the Nazis

There is a lot to be said about Antony Lowenstein, the fiery anti-Zionist Australian Jew, now a proud German citizen. A good snapshot is provided in a CiF Watch article here, it shows the sterling qualities of this character in a nutshell. His obsessive hate of Israel drives him to such extremes... But there is enough said, and there is nothing better to put an end to the whole gruesome subject than a short quote from his recent CiF opus How I, an Australian Jewish-atheist, became a German citizen. Because the first sentence says it all:

It was hard to forgive the Nazis.
Have you ever seen somebody (Jewish or not) forgiving the Nazis before this sorry case? There are people who support and justify the Nazis, explain them, slightly criticize them, etc. - a veritable rainbow of opinions and statements. I can understand a Jew that forgives the Germans. But this, to the best of my knowledge, is the first time when somebody actually comes out of the closet (and a mighty peculiar one at that) and declares his forgiveness of the Nazis. Not that the Nazis ever asked anyone for forgiveness. But here you are.

What comes next, after forgiveness, Tone? I shudder to think about all the venues opened now...

Attached: a snapshot of the article - to be believed later, when the moron suddenly realizes...

Interestingly, Lowenstein (or was it a Guardian editor?) chosen a picture of bombed-out Dresden to grace his opus (and stress the element of forgiveness, I wonder?).

His wording is peculiar - to say the list - but I am prepared to write this down to an unfortunate slip of the tongue. Perhaps he really meant "Germans" when he said "Nazis". Perhaps he really meant "Asshole" when he said "perhaps this makes me HUMAN".

A slip in a fairly tightly edited Guardian? Only if the editor considered this turn of speech normal. Which says a lot by itself. As for the gentleman in question being an asshole - check.

Well, I just took a look at Herr Lowenstein's picture and the first thing I noticed about him is that he is young, a lot younger than I am, although I must admit that being younger than me is not too hard to do these days, so I think it's mighty big of him to forgive people who never did anything to him largely because they couldn't, what with them having lost the war well before he graced us all with his presence. Had he been a European Jew who lived through the years between 1939 and 1945, of course, I suspect his attitude would be a bit different, but I could be wrong about that. Ugly may only be skin deep, but stupid goes all the way down to the bone, as Judge Judy says.

I suspect that in this case stupid went to the bone marrow...

Re the Dresden photo, I just finished a book "Mission to Berlin: The American Airmen Who Struck The Heart of Hitler's Reich" which is about the bomber crews that hit Berlin and Dresden and elsewhere, bringing the Nazis terror war on London and elsewhere home where it belonged. The book isn't very well written but it is useful in showing the (sometimes apparently, often explicitly) large numbers of Jews in the B-17 and B-24 bomber crews. Obviously Herr Lowenstein wasn't among them.

Heh.

Herr Lowenstein would rather fly to bomb Tel Aviv, the way he dumps on the place.

Ah, but he had no choice but to "forgive" the Nazis. You see, "his" people are much, much worse. Excuse me - I am off to barf profusely.

If one were remotely so inclined (which I am not, having among other pressing matters to relieve myself) one could write at length on the narcissistic self-center of even just the subhead (because all of these isms and historical forces are, of course, most meaningfully considered in terms of how LOWEENSTEIN lives them out) including just the word "routinely" - because Lowenstein is such a marvel of individual personality that he does not merely exhibit, at times, this fascinating complex of differing tendencies, but, in wondrous fact, does so "routinely." I must go now, for, just as fascinating and routine, the loo calls.

The ability of a man of words to weave the said words into may a wondrous combination never ceased to fill me with envy. "a marvel of individual personality", and I just called him a moron...

Woe is me ;-)

There is a science to dissecting words and sentences, pioneered by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Applied to this Pisher's vomit, sprayed on the Guardian's sewer collecting plant - CiF, one can discern signs of Narcissism,
disorientated Identity crisis, MPD and a few other choice disorders. All of which qualify him for a regular staffer position on the Guardian.

Yep, he is surely well adjusted to the team there.

Weird, the best thing that can be said about this fool is that this may be an extreme example of the syndrome where the abused person in an abusive relationship keeps making excuses for their abuser. Even this is probably treating Lowenstein much too kindly. And you are right, you can forgive the Germans, but not the Nazis.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Well, Lowenstein is a relatively rare (thanks deity) kind of bird.

Histrionic personality disorders are more common in women.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

I cannot even dare express my opinion on this chauvinist statement.

BHCh, unfortunately this is the trend amongst wealthy Jews with high social status everywhere. It makes me think that the Wiesenthal centre should stop hunting down geriatric Nazis and start to eliminate moronic Jews. Israel is in danger, it is not a joke anymore.,

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Eliminate moronic Jews... hm.... Not a bad idea, but we will end up (like any other nation) with a small percentage of survivors.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Not sure what makes you think being a moron is somehow linked to be wealthy. Lowenstein doesn't strike me as a person with "high social status". Every class has its fair share of assholes.
