Staten Island chuck, Punxsutawney Phil or Buckeye Chuck?

I, personally, bet on this groundhog:

It's not inconceivable that he may emerge (as usual, victorious) from his hole in the ground. After all, it's four years since he has seen the sun, and you can only do so much with a sun lamp...

Yes, he makes a very plausible groundhog. In the face, anyhow.

While there were numerous stories about ground hogs leaving their holes today here in the US with different predictions about how long winter will last, I did not see any story about the Ground Hog of Lebanon leaving his hole.

PS: Speaking of winter, here in the mid-Atlantic area we are expecting another 3 to 6 inches of snow tonght on top of the 4 to 8 inches we got on Saturday, though about half of that has already melted.

Imagine how pale a man becomes after 4 years in a bunker. Like one of these mushrooms...

David, this year the Global Warming really got USA and Canada to task. Take care ;)

Snoopy, we did get 3 to 6 inches of snow last night which may everything white, bright and beautiful this morning. It was a real winter wonderland out there. The sun came out from behind the clouds about 9AM and started melting which included the snow from the trees causing a sort of second snowfall. A good deal of the snow melted today and probably more will do so tommorrow, However the weather folks are now saying the Washington DC area may get as much as a foot of snow, Friday night and Saturday morning.

About Global Warming or perhaps accurately Global Climate Change: This is the first hard winter we have had in the DC area in six or seven years, so we are rather overdue for one. Winters have been pretty easy here in the DC area lately, so this one hard winter by itself may not mean much in the longer term.

Snoopy: I am afraid that your server is shutting me out of the comments section, again. The comments section does not appear, except when I click on one of the comments in the recent comments section on the right-hand bar.

Have a good night and see you tommorrow, Shalom.

David, I wish I could have any impact on this beast's behavior. I hope it's another temporary glitch that will pass away.

Snoopy, we are expecting a major blizzard to hit the Washington DC area starting late Friday morning and continuing through Saturday. The prediction is for 1 to 2 feet of snow. Will be at work tommorrow, but I suspect the Federal Govt. will close early. Based on what happened during the last blizzard in December, the Govt. may not  open (except for emergency staffing) until Tuesday, when it is predicted that there wil be another snowfall. So who knows when I will be back at work with enough time to comment. Take care and keep coming up with these wonderful posts.

PS: After not opening the comments section for me earlier, the bathroom post did so after I made my comment on the Hamas video when I clicked on it a second time. However the comment section on this post still would not open and could only be accessed by clicking on your comment here that was in the most recent comments section. Guess this is what they call a crapshoot. Sure makes life interesting.
Shalom.

1 to 2 feet - wow, you will have an opportunity to build a lot of snowmen then. But take care. I remember clearly that snow could be not that benign.

And the the crapshoot with Echo - it is rather a crap system. I hope it will improve with time, too lazy to look for a replacement.
