More on Sarah Palin, blood libel and hypocrites

Reading this text by Howard Kurtz and then googling for "blood libel sarah palin" and, especially, after picking my jaw from the floor when seeing this piece by Andrew Sullivan, I cannot stop wondering about the hordes of judeophiles that have suddenly descended on the unsuspecting world after that Palin's speech.

(One or two more posts like this and I will be written off as a staunch defender/supporter of Sarah. Which I am not. But whatever...)

Even if you don't like her (and I do) it's hard not to feel sorry for her, the way she has become the Left's political scapegoat for everything that goes wrong. Even some on the Right pillory her from time to time.We in the middle just sit and watch in disbelief.

One does wonder, does one not, where all these judeophiles are hiding when the UN, et al, take their latest swipe at Israel? Maybe if she became an assistant prime minister... Naw, probably not.

I think it is clear that we Jews owe Sarah Palin an apology. For centuries, we have had the temerity to compare our suffering to Hers.

It is not that I don't like her, I just think that she is too far from being real POTUS material.

Oh, Guest, dear, this is precisely the kind of flaming ADL does so good. No need to take their bread from them.

Heh. As if we had had many in the past few decades.

That's true too. I've seen today someone on CNN nostalgic about Reagan. Just a sec:

I am pretty much in agreement with what Kurtz and Sullivan said. Palin instead of backing down from "Don't retreat, Reload" rhetoric decided to come out swinging with her "blood libel" remarks. I find this offensive and rather self-pitying of Palin to compare criticism of her with classic hate smear of Jews drinking other peoples' blood. Apparently Palin's continued attack dog type rhetoric has not gone over well with a majority of Americans either. Hat tip to Gene of Harry's Place for the link at http://hurryupharry.org/2011/01/19/loughner-the-leftist
In the interest of fair play Gene also links in the same post to a Democratic Congressman from Tennesse who compared Republican attacks on last year's Health Care Bill to Nazi Big Lie style attacks.

PS: Sorry to be so late with this remark.

First of all, David, I would say that Sullivan is a very poor candidate for protector of Jooz. Secondly, re the issue of blood libel, it is not that simple. I would like to advise on this:

Nothing to apologize fore.
Best

Thanks Snoopy for linking to Rubin's article on blood libel. It was very harrowing and thought provoking. But I am sorry, I still stand by my previous comment.

A man shouldn't be sorry for standing for his beliefs, methinks ;)
