The recognition game continues: Abbas' turn

If you've wondered whether Abbas can do something more stupid than, for instance, Lieberman, here it comes:

Any peace agreement which requires the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a Jewish state or an exchange of land is out of the question, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Friday.
Who is next?

Did Abbas spell out that he was rejecting all land-swaps whatsoever? That would be a significant development but it deosn't seem to be put that way except in the article's paraphrase of what he said.

Another day, another Mahmoud, same shit. I'm setting up BDSM - Boycott, Divestement and Sanctions against any Mahmoud out there. Currently working on a wipe-out-mahmoud-name-from-collective-memory device.

he can afford to be 'dumber then Lieberman'. the PA is full of 'Liebermans' while in Israel they are the minority (even if they are growing in an alarming rate) so really, no one gonna notice.

There is no more clarifications to this Abu Mazen's remark. But you know how it goes: he can always claim later that its' an issue of translation. Nothing to do about it, when the Arabic (and Farsi, for that matter) are so deep with mystery...

Boycott Mahmoud the Mad? Come on, Pisa, you don't really want to boycott the best Middle East stand-up comedian?

That true.

Once again Israel is saved by the greater stupidity of its enemies; which is the time of Lieberman is a pretty outstanding feat.

Sigh, meant to say, "in the time of Lieberman" in previous comment.
Have to do better proof reading.

except that Arabic translates very well into Hebrew, it's Koranic Arabic that has problems - the Koran has 7 different versions because no one thought of making those little dots that tells you weather a line is one letter or another (or 4 others in some cases) that's not the case with modern Arabic.

Hmm... well, he can always say he meant it in another way...
