This post is not about the dancing Israeli nincompoop of a soldier, nor about BBC or CNN or even FFS. It's about you. But to define "you", we'll have to peruse the two following exhibits. Which are simply lists of most popular news from BBC and CNN:
1. BBC
2. CNN
Now we can define "you". You in this case means any single one of the multitude of readers that promoted the article marked by red arrow to the list of the top stories - by being inordinately interested in it.
So, my dear YOU: I have a few words of advice to offer. First of all, peruse the list of other headlines for the same day (incidentally, it's October 5, 2010, for future reference). Then think about all this.
Then - FFS, please try to get a life. Really...

The question is why is this even a story that merits the attention of the big networks? It's not "You" that is the issue. It's the news networks that can seize upon this non-story and turn it into an item of news on par with the rest of the list. The hapless viewer is made to think there is some evil meaning in this scene. What's the big deal anyway? They can't have vids with Israeli soldiers beating their prisoners to a pulp so they pounce upon this kind of vid which is totally harmless? Just goes to show what kind of saintly standards they impose on Israelis. Or rather, scarcity of material that suggests Israeli occupation is so brutal...
It's like that Iraqi prisoner story that went on and on, ad nauseum, all because some dimwit sergeant made a POW dress in a shawl and a pointy hat. Oh, the horror!

I will destroy you, so be on your best Guard Mr? little palmer.
arrr... "danced" arouned him?
you sure it wasn't "danced on" - that I could understand being abusive (SkyNews)?
Beg pardon, Noga, but "you" is the issue. If all these "you" were less excited about anything to deal with the Zionists, the big networks would have naturally lost their unhealthy interest, don't you think?
Precisely. Only in this case it's the Zionists whodunit, which adds a multiplication factor...
Her, in this case, I think.
Well, unless someone is hiding something from me...
Snoopy you don't understand the inner workings of these organisations.
The same day didn't happen any significant event in Israel, maybe the councilworkers of Tel-Aviv cleaned up the dog poo created by a Jewish owned dog in the Arab quarter of Yafo before Hariett Sherwood arrived there, or no female IDF personnel has been caught humiliating a male Palestinian at the checkpoint stopping and questionning him without saluting before.
Yes, Peter, I freely confess to not being adept in the inner workings of BBC and/or CNN. Still, you describe a day that just couldn't happen, you know...
My turn to beg pardon, snoopy. There is nothing in the vid that I watched of the soldier dancing around the Palestinian woman that was similar to the Abu-Ghraib photos and poses. The only way this could be construed as humiliation is that Arab Muslims would probably consider any Jew dancing next to them as violating some sacred tenet in their religion, namely, that Jews are subhuman and Muslims must keep total distance or else be tainted...
If only Palestinians could be moved to express their hostilities by dancing around Israelis to Israeli music.
Okay, I can see why this is thuggish and in bad taste but when BBC, CNN and Sky start me up with "abuse" I'm starting to see Abu Greib in my mind, when this is replaced with actual pictures... its somewhat of an anti-Climax. I mean really there are worse cases of 'Happy Slapping' from 14 year olds in the UK (and Israel).

Shira, I agree with you. What the Israeli soldier did was intimidating. The soldier not only danced around a blindfolded, bound lady prisoner, he rubbed up against her several times quite suggestively. This is certainly not abuse and has no doubt been exagerated by the usual suspects, BBC, CNN & Sky etec, but neither should it be dismissed as nothing.
yea I... "I can see why this is thuggish" we eed to stop agreeing, its weired.
Glad we are all in agreement.
That true.
Not all news services carried this story. I saw nothing about it on CBS News online. I did not check others like MSNBC.
Yes, some people found other news on that day.
