Let me see: who is next to be thrown under the bus? Hm...
Update: confirmed by WaPo:
On Wednesday, at a joint news conference, Obama more forcefully pushed Xi to confront China’s record on human rights, but he also struck notes of conciliation, including emphasizing that the United States does not support independence for Tibet.Update 2: Five articles in CNN on China visit: Tibet not mentioned even once.

Tibetans are not Palestinians. Why should Obama want them independence?
This is for real?
Indeed, why?
Just added a confirmation from US source...
I've been telling you guys, this president will do anything to further what he thinks is important (him). Now he's going to go home with waving a statement from Xi that he thinks is an agreement that allows executive action on ahem climate control. So he gave away Tibet for a promise they will never fulfill, the fool.
Oh yeah, it surely looks like Xi was playing him like a fiddle.
He's throwing a fair portion of his own party under the bus here. He'll be sorry before this is over.
Why should he? The clock ticks toward retirement...
I can't think of any other president who was rejected by his own party. The Worm may be the first.
Yes, but again - what is the worst that could happen to him? There is no special hell for failed presidents... and the retirement terms are the same as for the successful ones.
Chicago Dems play hardball. He just might discover his mortgage called in by the bank, not to mention his garbage not picked up or snow shoveled off his street. There are myriad ways for pols to get even without seeming to be involved.
That I would like to see.
