The tragedy struck (again) the beach of Gaza. Four innocent children playing football on the beach were hit by a stray shell from an Israeli naval gun. Of course, IDF, as in every case like this, is investigating and stating that the Navy gunners were aiming at a terror cell (which is true), but the fact is that four children are dead.
A tragedy is a tragedy, and there is nothing to say but that my heart goes out to the parents of the boys - no matter their political affiliation or even membership in one of the many terrorist gangs of the Gaza Strip.
But what about the blame? The grief, the wrath and the hate, inevitably erupting after the tragedy - one of many that visited Gaza sine the beginning of the latest round of violence - where all this should be directed? At the Israeli Navy gunners? At the Israeli generals or Israeli government that gives the orders? At the Jews in general, as it happens now around the world?
Look closer to home, Gazans. Look at this:
The people who were elected by you to rule and to protect you are launching these rockets from your own backyards, from your schools and mosques. The people that you have elected couldn't care less about your kids and their fate. In effect, they invite Israeli to strike you dead - and as many of you as possible, to further their murderous ambitions and their murderous and, thankfully, unattainable goals.
These are the fat cats of Hamas that use you all as pawns in their hellish game - and preferably dead pawns - to use for propaganda purposes.
But the world is getting wise to their ploy. Read this:
Why would Hamas insist on continuing the fight when it is faring so poorly? The only plausible answer is stomach-turning: The Islamic movement calculates that it can win the concessions it has yet to obtain from Israel and Egypt not by striking Israel but by perpetuating the killing of its own people in Israeli counterattacks. More than 200 people, including a number of children, have already died in Gaza; Hamas probably calculates that more deaths will prompt Western governments to pressure Israel to grant Hamas’s demands. But this is not all, this editorial of Washington Post has more to add:
So far, the tactic is not working. These seven words mean only one thing: the destruction and deaths of innocents will continue. Think about it, if not about anything else.
But I would advise you also to think about something else: how it might have been, haven't you, the people of Gaza, been so easily tempted to elect the fanatic murderers for your leaders. Look a few years back and think. Think hard.

The time is ripe, indeed.
Yeah, and notice how quickly the cops come to restore the peace.
Wow. Wow... what could I say. Imagine what goes on in other universities. The campuses (campi?) need a thorough cleaning.
Just heard that the IDF is beginning an incursion into Gaza.
Hope that all of you in Israel and all the members of your families are safe and well.
Now go and hammer the bastards flat!
Yes, thanks Brian. I only wish we were able to leave in peace without all this.
