A Jewish rabbinical court condemned to death by stoning a stray dog it feared was the reincarnation of a lawyer who insulted its judges, reports say. This is the most read story on BBC now. Must be a real slow day.
Yep, the Mea Shearim rabbinical court is a tough bunch of generally unsympathetic anti-Zionist ultra-orthodox jerk-offs. I can't imagine what they would do to a dog were it infested not by a lawyer's but by a reporter's soul...

come fly with me! LOL!
This is what you get when 1st cousins marry.
I didn't know the Charedi believed in reincarnation. Learn something every day on the BBC. (Cough)
Can't say I blame them for thinking dogs "impure." What other animal eats its own poop?
;)
Yeah, BBC will tell ya...
This is more or less what these new Japnese steaks are about, so I guess we are joining the dogs...
There is still a lot of obvious nonsense in the way this is reported. When was the last time an animal or any other entity was sentenced to stoning by a Rabbinic court? 2000 years ago? What does it mean to say the a dog is "unclean" or "impure"? The main use of phrases like "behaima tameah" and "behaima tahora" is that you can eat the latter and not the former. I think the judges just asked some kids to chase the dog away since it was a nuisance and maybe there was some mention of reincarnation since the court manager's statement to Ynet seems to refer to it.
Oh well, the whole story is as nonsensical as possible to start with. But it made up for a slow day.
You do know that the story was bogus (well wildly exagerated) and haaretz issued an apology....
I think that the only tue part of the story was that a stray dog walked past teh Beit Din, everything else was the product af someone's imagination.
Good. Is there a link to the apology somewhere? Thanks in advance.
