As some people noticed via the comments here and otherwise, I got me my personal 9/11 - of a kind.
Cannot say now that the sign wasn't on the wall. But still, the direction from which the hit came was kind of unfair. As an all around fair borrower/employer, I have abused the borrowed/employed bits of my body equally. With some advantages given to the heart, which at the end of the day decided to behave like an ingrate. So be it.
It is a new and uncharted territory for me, so it will take some time to get used to it and to learn the ways to smuggle some A, T (skip the F for now) past the gendarmes that patrol its roads. But no worries, we'll get there yet...
And meanwhile, my heartfelt thanks to all who wished me well on this occasion - in the comments and otherwise.
Oh, and yes: the normal services will be resumed soon. I hope.

Very sorry to hear this. I hope you recover quickly and completely.
Hang in there. Pretty soon you won't even miss the A & the T. (Easy for me to say.)
I'm sorry to hear this Snoopy, Here's hoping you have a speedy recovery mon ami!
I guess I haven't been following your comments closely enough. But let me wish you a Refua Shlaima. Hope to see you back at full strength soon.
What the hell happened? I'm gone for a short while and people are dropping like flies all over the damn place!
Wishing you well Dear Snoopy, and no fasting for you this year.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Just another sign of getting old.
Refuah Sheleimah!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Snoopy, Refuah shlema vemahira!
I wish you a speedy recovery, Snoopy. I'm sorry I can't find something smart to say to make you feel better. Just take care of yourself - good bloggers are hard to find.
Whoa, Snoopy, I didn't know... I hope you're recuperating quickly. I quit the T 5 years ago, still drink A rarely - only when I go out to dinner (white wine). Be careful! I quite the T using patches and group therapy in a program at a hospital run by nurses. Some day I'll tell you the story when I showed up at the program crying and slobbering saying I couldn't go on without a cig... I'm smiling and happy now! :)
I was so distrated by your heart stuff that I didn't say what I came to say! The last word verification for comment i was about to make on the blog before I visited you was "shicksa." Believe it or not! And very apropos for me. Ha!
Take care, Snoopy. Would really miss you if you could not come back. You will be in my prayers between a friend from Darfur who is trying to get his wife and child out of Egypt to this country before they are both deported back to Sudan and Christopher Hitchens.
Dear Snoopy, it is going to be all good from now on. Never mind the relatives who visit and smoke, or who smoke but don't visit... they will burn in the nicotone overdose hell. And an occasional drink, even if an occasion turns up every other day did not hurt anyone so far. So, cheers to you and love!

Doctors are out there to disobey, Kateland!
Thanks, I guess...
There is no explanation what does a camel do in Oregon. And I am familiar with the second story. Guess some old party bosses turned in their graves in the wall a few times!
Thanks, David, appreciated.
Nothing wrong with a good shicksa, Mary ;)
Yeah... I guess that T part is the toughest...
Thanks Pisa, and there really ain't all that much to say in this case.
Toda, Peter.
Toda, Yitzchak!
Well, one badge saying "Senior Citizen" was dispatched to my home, I hear ;)
Thanks, Chairwoman, and no fast for me indeed.
Which shows again what happens when some people shirk their responsibility...
Thanks, SD. And Gmar Hatima Tova.
Thanks, Jams. As for recovery, whether speedy or not... who cares.
No intention to forswear from A here.
Thanks Peter, I shall try my best.
