Deconstructing a sick Pappe: sloppy, dishonest or both?

Benny Morris, a somewhat reluctant anti-Zionist himself in the past, but a straightforward and really professional historian, with a devastating criticism of another book by Ilan Pappe. Pappe is an "historian" who himself confessed to be writing a narrative of what he considers to be a "politically correct" version of Palestinian history, rather then researching history professionally.

At best, Ilan Pappe must be one of the world’s sloppiest historians; at worst, one of the most dishonest. In truth, he probably merits a place somewhere between the two.
A great read.

A few reminders about Mr Pappe:

Pappe.

Pappe.

Pappe.

Pappe.

Thanks. Always a pleasure to read the way Morris slices and dices through crap. Worth noting: Morris states that Pappe fathered the BDS movement in 2004, not Omar Barghoutti and the Karmi woman in the UK.

Well, my ability as historian is nil, especially when dates are concerned, so Morriss probably knows better. Anyhow, it happens that great ideas like BDS come to several people independently and simultaneously ;-)

It's obviously pap.

Or very possibly, Pappe has deferred to Barghoutti and Gahda Kharmi so as to avoid suggestions of an Israeli occupation of the boycott movement itself.

Indeed, but met with unqualified success in Britain and other places. After all, the man got a cushy job in Exeter.
