Noam Chomsky, the Master Mind (MM) of the Century, gave another amazing interview. The subject this time is the Arab Spring, one of the multitude of subjects with which our hero is intimately familiar (in fact, there are no subjects outside his infinite competence*). What can I say: even if I wanted to, there is nothing, absolutely nothing to sink my fangs in, so free of content is the whole. Possibly with the exception of a long tirade on much hated Zionist Entity, where he produced a veritable broadside (only partially quoted here):
...Palestine, where negotiations are underway conforming to the two essential US-Israeli preconditions: that there be no barrier to expansion of the illegal settlements (sic!), and that the negotiations be run by the US, which is a participant in the conflict (on the side of Israel) and has been blocking the overwhelming international consensus...Now, after you got some air back into your lungs after that eruption of wisdom, go ahead and ask me what does the Arab Spring have to do with the Israeli/Palestinian negotiations. I bet you expect me to know... nah.
As for the rest of the interview: there is nothing more, aside of "blame US-UK for everything". The only way to deal with the whole lot of generic drivel is to find shelter behind some poetic imagery. So what I offer is an image of a great soaring eagle. One that soars so high that no tiny boring details of our day-to-day love, misery and/or happiness, nor any pedestrian facts can bother the majestic creature in its contemplation of... of the whole, you know - the life, the universe etc.
Oh, and one more poetic detail: the bird is somewhat blind, so the details escape its attention anyhow. Too bad for the details, after all. Because nothing in the manner of mere facts of our mundane existence should reach the bird and interfere with its thought process.
And we can't complain that we don't receive any communications from this uber-eagle. Because, after all, the bird poops, you know...
(*) Re the infinite competence: the man who knows so much about the Middle East in general and Arab Spring in particular is the same one that gave another, much more hilarious interview in 2005, to an Egyptian blogger, Karim Elsahy (whose blog is long defunct, to my sorrow). To ensure we are all synchronized here, (C) means Chomsky:
(C) I mean the level of religious fundamentalism in the United States is beyond any country I know. But it wasn't the only pearl of wisdom from Noam the Mastermind's, there was more, like this:
In Egypt for example, is there a problem about teaching evolution in schools?
(E) I don’t believe it is actually taught in government schools.
(C) I am surprised to hear that.
What will happen in Egypt depends on the Egyptian phenomenon, and tendency. I don’t see any inherent reason why the Muslim Brotherhood couldn’t be part of the majority part of the democratic culture. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. But that for Egypt to work out.Indeed. Say no more, say no more. Please...

I am normaler than normal
The "level of religious fundamentalism in the United States is beyond any country I know."
He doesn't actually know the Muslim nations, you see, he only reads about them in the NYTimes.
I protest the exclusion of me and my pink brethren.
What can I do but agree with that ;-)
Exactly my take on the Mastermind.
Heh. Pink ones are a category of their own, apparently.
I guess white is normal. It is a shame I am not white, I am beige. Therefore you are allowed to discriminate against me right?
Hm... beige. There is no beige in the list, so I guess one could discriminate against you, right.
This site disgusts me! Racist propaganda!!!
Beige is the new pink.
"Because, after all, the bird poops, you know..."
OK, that line caught me by surprise. Somehow, you managed to achieve in print the same effect as the timing of a very good standup comic. כל הכבוד
But don't you see, Dick, the peace agreement will be between Israel and *the United States*. Solves a host of problems.
OK, Snoopy, you must tell us where you got this. No perpetrator so heinous should escape naming.
Yes, indeed. You shouldn't come to this racist and bigoted place no more, Louie. PBUY.
Yep, and Yaalon is getting it in the neck from all quarters now ;-)
I wouldn't know, beige is usually outside of my ability to distinguish the colors. Need to ask SWMBO.
Thanks, this is always nice to hear. Best.
Indeed. This is how it looks for now.
You know, I have tried to get the pedigree of this picture, but a lot of other sites picked it up and it was impossible to get to an article on its origins.
Heh. But Lurch can't get a Nobel that way. The Heinz fortune isn't enuff for him. He NEEDS a Nobel.
You just cant' stop a good man on his Noble way...
Noting Chomsky's recent attendance at a ceremony that he found "very/profoundly moving" held by Hezbollah, literally "The Party of God", isn't his "not knowing" more a case of willful blindness/useful idiocy?
There is some of that too, definitely, but his lack of knowledge also shows up very frequently. Of course, he is championing many case out of blind belief in his warped ideology. And his ignorance definitely helps on the way, supported by his ability to ignore facts. This here blog contains a few examples during the years, but there are more knowledgeable people who made him their study.
"Chomsky" is the sound a socialist makes gurgling on his own bile, as he chokes to death. Good read.
Not really, we're what the uneducated call white. If they'd take a moment to inspect the skin, they would see it was pink. Except when it's beige. It's never white.
Strictly speaking, he calls himself "anarcho-syndicalist". Whatever it means, but he is a language expert, you can't argue with him...
