After browsing through the CNN article by Matthew Teller* 10 things to know before visiting Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, I have one additional thing to add to the list. This regarding the item 9. When you visit Israel, you're also visiting biblical Palestine: when you dial the next destination on your time machine, don't use the term "biblical Palestine". Time machines are known for their capricious behavior, and you may find yourself invited to a dinosaur family lunch. As a delicacy, of course.

About the author: Freelancer Matthew Teller writes and broadcasts on the Middle East for media outlets around the world. He's an award-winning travel writer and a long-standing author for the global travel publisher Rough Guides.Yeah. Beware of guide books, all I can say...
Update: It must be said that the headlines of the articles, like the unfortunate one discussed here, are usually done up by the editors. So it's unfair of me to blame the author for something done by a rather ignorant git in CNN's offices. Apologies where apologies are due.

Their politics are showing. Visiting Gaza would be a neat trick if you could get away with it. Visiting the West Bank would be hard enough if there was an Israeli license on your rental car.
Yeah. I, for one, wouldn't try. Unless it's in an IDF vehicle, but the license plates look differently ;-)
In the movie "In the valley of Elah" there is a grandfather who tells his grandson the story of David and Goliath and apparently, according to him, the confrontation takes place in Palestine.
There was a Biblical Palestine? When? In my bible it is either Judea or Israel.
Yeah, why not. Bot David and his foe didn't know the are Palestinians, that's all...
When they invented humus. And felafel too.
Hummus in the bible is called "Hamitzah" - חמיצה
If we must use modern terminology:
- Hellenic occupied Israel and Judea
- Roman occupied Israel and Judea
etc...
My teachers used to refer to chickpeas as "himtza". So which is the correct word?
How could David not know he was Palestinian when there is Burj Daud in Jerusalem?
Another proof that we stole the Humus!
Imagine a politically correct speak where a person will have to reflect on the dates in this way. Oy vey.
He was young then, impetuous and didn't learn enough yet.
It was just Judea by that time, Gideon. The kingdom of Israel existed
"roughly from the 930s BCE until about the 720s BCE, when the kingdom was conquered by the Assyrian Empire. The major cities of the kingdom were Shechem, Tirzah, and Shomron (Samaria).
Historians often refer to ancient Israel as the Northern Kingdom or the Kingdom of Samaria to differentiate it from the Southern Kingdom of Judah." (wiki)
Nowhere is there a Kingdom of Palestine anytime in history. And the "political correctness" Snoopy refers to is a mind-boggling brazen attempt to re-write history so that there will not be any mention of the name "Judea" anywhere near a story that revolves around Israel and/or Palestinians.
Look what the architects of this colossal mass deception called "political correctness" have wrought.
What Noga Says.
You are correct. חימצה. Hamitzah is that disgusting borscht stuff.
