To: major Sidorov, the commanding officer of the Soviet Russian early warning radar station (Tartus, Syria).
It is with deep sorrow and absolute compassion that we received the information about the launch of two Israeli missiles causing you to drop a glass of vodka, thus wasting the precious liquid.
We are glad to tell you that our next missile shipment to the Russian base in Tartus will carry a bottle of the best vodka IDF procurement will be is able to lay their hands on.
Again - our sincere apologies for the spilled drink and associated anguish, caused by your radar's apparent inability to establish the direction of the above mentioned missiles' flight (which happened to be out to the sea and not the other way around). We pray that your senior commanders will find the budget necessary to upgrade your station's equipment, so that such unfortunate accidents could be avoided in the future.
За ваше здоровье, майор!

Accidents will happen, and when the subject is military, they usually do.
Thanks deity, it brings some entertainment in our otherwise boring life here ;-)
This was a shot across the bow of Syria and the Russians in the truest sense of the term. Good to remind that even though Israel has been keeping a low profile, it is still biggest regional power in the Middle East,
"Low profile" isn't part of our DNA.
It's amazing how this incident has brought out the true conspiracy theorists. I can't make sense of their reasoning but it has something to do with Obumbles' "shot across the bow" being more than meets the eye. Or the ear, if you listen to Lurch and his alleged proof. Stated (by a congenital liar) but not demonstrated.
I have asked to pass along this message.
As you see it's somewhat opaque in meaning perhaps the senders mention of vodka has something to do with that.
Yeah, all in all a good shake to that boat.
So true...
Oh, conspiracy theorists usually see more, know more and suspect much more than normal people, that for sure. Thus they are so entertaining.
He he he, superb text that!
A mention of vodka never hurts.
Would you kindly pass this on to our kind friend:
Поцелуй мою волосатую два щеками кошерной мезузы, вы инбредных русский купец шлюха.
Heh.
Now, now. Translations are in order.
I will, but I'm afraid being a Russian and it being New Years it might be awhile before it's received. I know it's Jewish New Years, but Russians are remarkably ecumenical about those sort of things.
That too, will pass.
No can do. While this is not a family blog...
