There were many famous airlifts in history, to mention only three of them: the Berlin airlift (thanks President Truman), the Yom Kippur war airlift (thanks President Nixon) and the Airlift of Evil (thanks VP Cheney). Each of the three reached its goals, although in the last case it would have been much better if it failed.
Anyhow, the history tends to repeat itself, and in this case a new kind of airlift is described. In this instance the airlift failed, but no doubt the idea will bear fruit in the future.
A man is accused of trying to get marijuana into a Washington state jail by attaching it to an arrow he shot onto the roof. A Whatcom County sheriff's employee saw the man step out of his pickup truck and use a bow to launch the arrow toward the jail's second-floor recreation area, but it missed its target. Here I just have to make a remark on a legal point or two. Granted, the gendarmes like to make the book they throw at their clients as heavy as possible. Still - I can understand the "introducing contraband" point, it has some merits, better to be left to lawyers. The "resisting arrest" notion most probably means that Mr Jordan got a few knocks while being handcuffed and inserted into the cop car. But "obstructing law enforcement"? Where does it stop, our dear best and finest?
Sheriff Bill Elfo says the man, identified as 36-year-old David Wayne Jordan, was arrested for investigation of introducing contraband into the jail, resisting arrest and obstructing law enforcement.
And you, David: do take a few archery lessons. You may be proficient with a BB gun, but archery is a totally different bowl of chili. If you see what I mean, of course. And good luck with your next attempt.

Evolution at work, the early stage. Drama to come, I bet.
this was always the rumor about Odessa prison - you throw cigarettes over the wall and they will throw back handmade knives and other trinkets. And those knives were awesome. I was too little to try it then. Bow and arrow is just a redneck twist.
Maybe he should have used a drone.
I am sire it will, when David and his buddies get trained.
But a good one, nevertheless, you must agree.
Now don't laugh, in a few years this is exactly what will happen, I am sure. Today you already could buy a perfectly manageable drone in a shop.
