And other U.S. allies in the region...

Mick Hartley on the Arab responses to Bibi's speech. What caught my eye:

In just a few words, Mr. Netanyahu managed to accurately summarize a clear and present danger, not just to Israel (which obviously is his concern), but to other U.S. allies in the region.
Faisal J. Abbas, the powerful Editor-in-Chief of Al Arabiya English, might be a bit naive on that point. "Ex - U.S. allies in the region" would be a more fitting description, it looks like.

Indeed, all those grins are more than a little macabre.

My first thought too ;-)

What ship did he lose to sinking? The old British tars wore earrings to signify they'd been aboard a ship sunk.

Nice for all those disputatious to have a common enemy at last.

It was so good of you to remind me his earrings. Here is an old story:

Kind of nice, too.

Bibi convinced the GOP. Its 47 Senators have now written Tehran to say they will not endorse any Obama treaty with the Mullahs. By law the Senate has to for a treaty to be enforceable. End of story.

It becomes more interesting by the day.

Snoopy you should be more understanding and appreciate the good news visible on their faces - your liver, your heart, your lungs and your kidneys are in excellent conditions and could serve you till 120!...

What can I say, Peter: I have a strong doubt that any of my bits will serve anyone aside of stray dogs. Still, there is a difference between understanding and appreciation, you know.

As they use to say in the Guardian: we understand but we don't condone...

Relax Snoopy, they know better. If your replacement parts weren't in very good shape they wouldn't smile like dogs at a fresh piece of meat...

OK, this is a sound logic you display here ;-)

Unfortunately this is not a treaty. What those 47 GOP senators have done is to try and sabotage any agreement with Iran and quite possibly start a war with Iran. This would be rather awkward since Iran and the US are already on the same in Iraq fighting ISIS. You see you have to be patient. We can have the war with Iran, after we defeat ISIS. One war at a time.

Seriously this unprecedented attempt to undermine US diplomatic efforts have created quite a bit of backlash here in the US. Sen. John McCain is kinda of moving away from it saying that it was not the most effective response to Iran, click on http://thehill.com/policy/international/235305-mccain-gop-letter-to-iran-not-most-effective-response

Snoopy, they are just happy that all the money you paid for life insurance will turn out to be worth it. I.E. , they along with SWMBO will be rolling in the shelkels.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Oh well, we shall see.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Er... not SWMBO in any case, this ADI thing is for unpaid volunteers only. But they are too happy for my taste anyway ;-)

Ha, ha. Very funny. There's been no backlash at all except in the Democrat news media which can always be counted on to whack the GOP while covering fro the Dems. McCain is a weeny with no clout in the GOP. He's only important to the lefty Democrats (but I repeat myself), but only when he doesn't run for president.

The GOP is trying to start a war? That's absurd. Which Democrat talking point does that come from?

I'm sure the GOP letter has the support of a majority of Americans, because Obozo has proven to them time and again that he cannot be trusted.
