I use to think that the only colorful politicians and public figures in Canada were the French speakers and that the English speakers were unremarkable even dull. Mayor Cokehead II (Rob Ford) has certainly changed that. If he cannot be re-elected Mayor, perhaps his home district will elect him to the City Council, just as happen here in Washington DC with former Mayor Cokehead I (Marion Barry) who is still a city councilman!

All I can say is that times have changed since John Sewell got dumped for re-election for admitting to having had a beer in a titty bar. Latest news is the story about Ford going MIA when he had an appointment with fellow Conservative P.M. Stephen Harper who was in town for an event, about some money the feds were going to put up for the subway up in the north east end. The cops were on the look-out for the Mayor's black Caddy Escalede that afternoon because of numerous reports that he was driving impaired. The car was finally located in the parking lot of a hotel on Jarvis Street (known for its hooker strip), but Ford wasn't in it when located, so no charges were laid.
What a character! Some cities got all the luck.
Nah, Obama would probably be concerned with setting a bad example for his two daughters to try crack.
