Thumbs up to Jan Cooper of Anaheim

For this:
A 72-year-old Southern California grandmother who shot at -- and narrowly missed -- a man trying to break into her home said Tuesday she was shocked at the attention her action was getting but does not regret defending herself and her husband, an 85-year-old World War II veteran who uses a wheelchair.
And don't call her grandma: she is first of all a person, and a good one too.

Pity, though, she didn't wing the creep.

Always!

She obviously needs a shooting course. Center mass, lady, center mass.

Well, a .45 is a heavy toy. Dunno if I would have done better, without any training.

I heard it was a .357. Revolvers do tend to get thrown off target, however, by the heavy trigger pull.

As you say. My "expertise" on handguns boils down to a few rounds from Makarov and a few from Beretta .22 - not an impressive weapon by all means.

Assassins prefer the .22s, I have read, because they are quieter than larger calibers, have almost no kick and are just as lethal when in the right place, such as the heart or brain.

Well, I bet you are right, but not being a marksman and not being trained with handguns, my preference will be, as you say, with a body mass shot and the largest caliber possible...
