This article introduces what could become a harbinger of a drastic change in the life (or its abrupt termination) of an infantry soldier.
Sandia National Laboratories has brought that a bit closer to the real world. Researchers Red Jones, Brian Kast and their colleagues invented a self-guided bullet that can hit targets more than a mile away. But don't worry, infantry grunts: the darn thing was proved so far only on this target:
By the time they get down to sergeants, not to mention some lowly PFC, the world peace will be here, so no worries.

Well if it can lock in on that sort of target I can imagine many US soldiers buying them from their own pocket! I wonder what would be a good brand name: Easy frag?
Why US soldiers only? The insignia are almost international, with slight modifications. It will work everywhere...
Can you imagine these during hunting season? I can! Can't wait until they are for sale.
That is very unsporting of you, Katie ;-)
Perhaps, but the venison helps my budget very well.
That's true, didn't think about it...
