Chocolate and depression: what do scientists miss

Another page was turned in the annals of unnecessary research:

Study links chocolate and depression
When the researchers controlled for other dietary factors that could be linked to mood ... they found only chocolate consumption correlated with mood.
In other words, the more chocolate you consume, the more depressed you are. Strange, that: usually I am the most depressed when a sudden craving for chocolate comes on and there is none around.

There is another observation:
Like alcohol, chocolate may contribute a short-term boost in mood followed by a return to depression or a worsened mood.
Them scientists: so clever - for short term and limited points of view. Have they given thought to our day being a sequence of short time periods that could be made quite lovely by finely timed and tuned intake of chocolate, alcohol, tobacco and food? I guess not...
