Engage unearthed an amazing story:
There is a story in today's Sunday Times on the University of Birmingham's plan to train 60 engineering students from Amirkabir University in Teheran.
According to the report Amirkabir University is a centre for nuclear weapons research, and the training that the Iranian students will receive in Birmingham could contribute to this work. The exchange progam will apparently earn Birmingham up to £700,000, and the author of this story identifies Birmingham's need to cover its projectd £800,000 deficit as a significant motivation for accepting the students.
