The blessing of not being briefed

The latest scandal, that of Angela Merkel discovering that her cell phone was being listened to by NSA, was met by the too familiar by now response from the White House (no one told the POTUS, sorry) and by a pleasantly supportive NSA official:

"Gen. Alexander did not discuss with President Obama in 2010 an alleged foreign intelligence operation involving German Chancellor Merkel, nor has he ever discussed alleged operations involving Chancellor Merkel," NSA spokeswoman Vanee' Vines told CNN.
Sure thing. I bet if I were to count all the cases where White House most important resident denied any knowledge of any wrongdoing lately, I would quickly run out of fingers and toes.

When one of this POTUS' staunchest supporters produces a scathing satirical piece like that one, even a person that tries to be as bipartisan as possible will reconsider his/her stance, reading words like these:
In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff.

“Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.”
There are only two possible explanations for that phenomenon:

Explanation One: The president decided, as a result of some traumatic experience, that since the beginning of his second term in the office, he is leading some nation other than US (what is that happy country I am afraid to guess). Thus he really doesn't know or want to know what is going on in Washington DC and its environs - for reasons of national security, of course, refusing to be involved.

Explanation Two: Somebody has stolen this sign from the president's table:

Then modified it overnight and put it back looking like this:

This might explain it too. For me, at least.

Let's not play silly buggers with this one, they all do it, all security services that is, bar none. This one is about
leaks or to be precise Snowden. Today it's the NSA who has 'irrefutable' proof against it, tomorrow it'll be some other pisher who discloses another state's secrets.

We can all be certain that Merkel's BundesNachrichtenDienst are as apt and as schuldig as the NSA, yet their Schneeden hasn't crept out of the Keller yet.

In summary, this is still only about whistle-blowers and a bunch of those who have not been exposed, yet, bleating indignantly.

I have, at great risk, obtained a video explaining this phenomena of the administration.

That true, however the post is about the current administration and its rather inept way of responding to scandals that follow it lately.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Yep, that explains the situation fully and to the slightest detail.

Obumbles is a chronic liar. There's no reason to believe anything he says and plenty of examples by now why you would be a fool to do so. As for Merkel, if she doesn't like being spied on, she should start budgeting for her country's own national security. For a change.

Brilliant work, Elders!

Healthcare.gov will not be fixed in Obumbles' lifetime. He owes it all to his administration's culture of corruption, which finally caught up with him. Ha-ha. Unless the Dems keep the senate and win back the house next year (in which case they will throw out the law themselves and write a new one effectively nationalizing health care, hospital, doctors, etc.) Obamacare will quietly expire. Unloved and unsung. Bye-bye.

Great. "Hello boys, did you get a good night's rest?"

As Gideon says here, Merkel and her well trained boys do much the same to all their friendlies and non-friendlies. So she really shouldn't cry out all that diligently. Obama - yes, he should find some better answer than "I wasn't briefed".

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Indeed brilliant, but not ours. Others do it for us ;-)

I hope for all Americans some better solution will be found to replace the existing mess.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Yeah, the immortal one ;-)

Harumph Sir!

Morons may make our lives brighter but on the negative side - millions believe this crap and will be ready to act upon their beliefs waiting only for the right moment.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Double Harumph!

The millions you mention are waiting anyway. Meanwhile we can smile about all this.
