As reported by a former Knesset member Einat Wilf:
Straw said, according to Wilf, that the greatest obstacles to peace between Israel and the Palestinians and her Arab neighbors are the “unlimited” funds available to Jewish organizations and AIPAC in the US, as well as Germany’s “obsession” with defending Israel.Of course, using my special line to the Elders' department in charge of keeping in line less successful British ex-diplomats and other ex-VIPs*, I have immediately inquired whether Straw was authorized to such a disclosure. Apparently not.
But, in the larger picture, the damage is nil, our control of the world, including the misty Albion, is unchallenged, so all is cool on that side. If you want an explanation to that inexplicable outburst - there are two chief reasons for it.
First: seeing as how these unlimited funds flow in their unlimited channels to all kinds of happy destinations and not being on the receiving end of a single penny must cause pain. The fact is that we, the Elders, never considered this puny figure of a "diplomat" worth an investment. What with him being rather a failure in that job.
The second reason... oh, yes, here it is:
Straw, who has noted that his Blackburn constituency has some 25,000 Muslim residents and 23 mosques...'nuff said...
And on a subject slightly related to this post - Einat Wilf:
What, you didn't expect me to put the Bumbling Jack's picture here, did you?
More on the subject by Joshuapundit.
(*) This department has a much shorter moniker, but, taking into account the sensitivities of the British ex-diplomats and other ex-VIPs, I shall forgo it - for now.

Figures someone named Straw would use straw men in argument. Not Wilf's best pix, however, too many split ends on that hair. Like the one on her blog better: http://www.wilf.org/English/
Straw is a typical upper class twit, the likes of which were laughed at in many English comedies.
As for Ms Wilf- you are right, but sleeping Rubi Rivlin in the background somewhat detracts from the whole...
Heh. He does look sleepy. Not unlike some of our pols in public meetings. We don't often see them in photographs, though.
He used to be quite a good chairman of the Knesset, most of the time, quite fiery. I guess the lady's lecture was a bit boring ;-)
He most certainly isn't "upper class". Not even upper middle class. Based on this tirade, he comes across as an average Guardian reader, a comparatively moderate one, if I may say so. Blair's foreign secretaries have all been slightly kookie (no pun intended).
Well, upper class not in the meaning of his roots or upbringing, rather by virtue of his position.
Yeah... You don't acquire "upper class" by virtue of position. Not in Britain. The only thing he's got from "upper class" is a weird chin.
That true...
