The unheard warning

In his post The Regrettable State of Being non-Muslim, Mick Hartley, one of my favorites, unearthed an interesting - an ominous - article by Raymond Ibrahim, titled The Two Faces of Al Qaeda.

The article is a shocking document that should (but wouldn't, unfortunately) change some minds concerned with the Western guilt, Muslim grievances and worthy causes, the main, as usual, appearing to be the existence of these pesky Zionists that just refuse to curl up and die to satisfy the Ummah. It shows quite clearly that the message periodically transmitted to the West by Bin Laden and his minions, by uncounted mullahs and all kinds of offended and angry Islamists is no more than a smokescreen. Consider this utterance by Bin Laden (not for Western consumption, to be sure):

As to the relationship between Muslims and infidels, this is summarized by the Most High's Word: "We renounce you. Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us — till you believe in Allah alone."
And then consider this:
Hassan Butt, a former jihadist, helps explain the Islamist dichotomy between the propaganda of reciprocity and the theology of eternal hostility toward the infidel: "When I was still a member of what is probably best termed the British Jihadi Network ... I remember how we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed that the sole cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings, and 7/7 was Western foreign policy."
And understand that all you hear from various guilt-carrying Western pundits is nothing more than a result of careful and successful brainwashing. And that these fellow travelers are doing exactly what the Islamists want them to do - to preach their message to the West, while the purveyors of the double tongued messages prepare their believers to another Jihad, having little to do with these real or imaginary grievances.

Of course, one could hardly find a more exemplary fellow traveler than one quoted in the article.
For example, on Saturday on Radio 4's Today program, the mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, said: "What all our intelligence shows about the opinions of disaffected young Muslims is the main driving force is not Afghanistan, it is mainly Iraq."
And there are legions of fellow travelers and legions of suckers ready to believe that once the grievances are eliminated and some "land for peace" adjustments are made (based, most probably, on the old maps so cherished by the Ummah), everything will be just peachy. After all, what are a few acres or even a few millions of acres between friends. And some moderate dhimmitude cannot hurt... not when you get used to it.

Peace Be Upon You...
