this is what happens:
When reporters, including the Associated Press’ Matt Lee, pressed her to comment on the acquittal of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, she provided a pre-written response. The rest was only too natural:
“Generally, we continue to believe that upholding impartial standards of accountability will advance the political consensus on which Egypt’s long-term stability and economic growth depends,” she said. “But beyond that, I would refer you to the Egyptian government.”
Psaki ended the conference and the lights dimmed. When she seemingly figured her mic was dead, she went off script.I strongly suspect that somebody in State Department decided to go for a bullshit bingo won in one sentence. Methinks that he/she at least got very close to the goal, if not reached it. Good job.
“That Egypt line is ridiculous,” she appears to say.
