Clueless

Seriously, how clueless can you get???

How naive and ignorant of the real world do you have to be to assume that this guy in Gaza is flashing a sign for peace??? Doesn't like EVERYONE know what this sign stands for in the Arab world?

The answer to my rhetorical question is "Only as ignorant as your typical British journalist from IBTimes".   Apparently this bloke and his daughter are "gesturing peace signs".

When the stereotype of "peace-loving Gazans and warmaungaring Israelis" does not match the reality, all you have to do is make up your own reality.

And a side remark re that victory:

Of course. Israel bad, Palies good is the narrative enforced by news media management according to this good analysis:

Good analysis indeed.

I'd say Israel has done a pretty good job of disengaging politically already since they rarely talk. It's the physical and military disengagement that's the problem.

Indeed, so where is the point of that saying? Oh well, pols be pols...

The reality is beats Monty Python as far as craziness is concerned. They did not have journalists on the sidelines cheering for the peace-loving black knight. And the black knight did not claim that all he needs is an airport to bring in some "medicine".

And since that's the case, it's time to get a PM with a spine and not just a mouth.

This is not a Victory sign? (V for Victory?)
I wish Hamas such victory for every day...

SnoopyTheGoon said...

It is indeed, Peter, and as far as I know it is the same for most everywhere, Britain included.

Can't get more British than this:

OK, son, your sins are absolved. Go and sin no more.

BHCh said...

People mix them up, but yeah... This way around it's V for "Victory", even in the west.

Bibi can be blamed for many things. The craziness of Gazans isn't one of them.

The PM is a cautious guy. Not a bad thing, given that a complete victory over Hamas et al is simply unachievable. It's a Hydra, just like Al Qaeda.

It will be a little while before we find out whether his running of this war changed things for the better or not.

No more sin!? You are overreacting Snoopy...

Don't you think Bibi might have been right on the Gaza pullout?

Dick Stanley said...

Could be worse. I actually voted for Jimmy Carter and Al Gore. I still wonder if I'll be going to hell because of it.

BHCh said...

There is that, yes. I am sure he meant "Peace be upon you, Adolf Hitler!"

I am guessing Hamas promised him a new car if he and the missus drove around town tooting his horn to show how happy and grateful Gazans should be to Hamas.

Very reminiscent of the parades in Tehran with ginormous portraits of the Shah of Iran only weeks before he was forced into exile, followed weeks layer by parades with big pictures of Khomeini.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Unless he knows something so secret that even his ministers aren't allowed to know, otherwise I don't see the reason for premature pullout.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Oy... that's tough.

;-)

There is that, of course.
