UFO over Israel. Or, at least, in the general area.

This is what Ynet reports:

And the eggheads were on top of it this time:
Dr. Yigal Pat-El, the chairman of the Israeli Astronomical Association and observatory director, confirmed the sighting and said the origin of the object is unclear.
Well, kind of on top:
"It looked like a small body that suddenly started to grow and make spiral-like movements," he said. "After a while, it turned into a cloud....it looked like an object flying high above ground and then disintegrating." "It reached a height of some 80 kilometers and flew north of the border with Lebanon," he said. "It wasn't a meteor."
Was it, perhaps, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah leaving his bunker after 6 years? Who knows.

Over to my favorite UFOlogists.

Update: as heard on the radio today, it was a Russian ballistic missile test that went wrong. Kinda disappointing...

And now from Ynet again, from same scientist:
Israeli Astronomical Association Chairman Dr. Yigal Pat-El said that it is quite possible that the unidentified flying object reported by residents nationwide was a ballistic missile test.

"It most likely spun out of control and its remnants and the fuel was what people saw. It reached a height of 200-300 kilometers and that's why it was seen from so many locations," he told Ynet.
Notice that with each report that object gets higher. Oh well...

Some experts.  It could be:

1.  Comet
2.  Meteor
3.  Rocket
4.  Hassan Nasrallah
5.  Aliens from another Planet.  (Don't worry, they are Jewish and only want to make Aliyah.

Me? Worry? Never, as Alfred E. Newman says.

But see the update, it's nothing to worry about, just a Russian nuke test ;-)

That's Mahmoud the Mad's prototype drone, that is. Leaking oil. It was cobbled together from bits salvaged from a US spy plane that malfunctioned and crashed into the Iranian desert.

Be very afraid.
