Or is it the other way around? Anyway, Ezra Levant in a smashing broadside that simply must be watched here. No matter whether you agree or disagree with general drift of Mr Levant, we all should cheer for him in this case of medieval, monumental and malicious stupidity.

Interesting. But I got the drift after 4 minutes. Didn't need to spend all 26 minutes of the clip.
Yeah, the guy certainly knows how to weave them words together ;-)
The only person being monumentally stupid is Levant. The Council has a code of ethics that goes beyond the simple letter of the law and includes basic rules of civility.
Levant is supposed to be a journalist. Journalists are supposed to present the news and present opinion, supported by facts. I don't see how telling someone to F*** their mother qualifies as journalism.
Dear tintinnid,
Beg your pardon, but I beg to differ with two statements you made. First of all, Mr Levant is not a journalist. He is rather a commentator, granted - of the conservative wing. He is not supposed to present the news in a strictly controlled style of speech. His show is rather closer to a movie, where everything goes - or should go, in spite of the Council.
The Council itself: I, personally, no matter what my political stance is, can't abide stupid censorship of the kind described by E.L. in that (rather too long) speech. Censorship is censorship, no matter how nicely it is dressed in basic rules of civility or the letter of the law.
Snoopy, I don't disagree with your statement that Levant is a commentator, but when the SNN advertises it as fair and unbiased reporting, there are some standards that are expected.
With respect to the CBSC, I think that some of their rulings have been stupid, but membership is voluntary. If SNN has a problem with the ruling, drop the membership. How is that censorship?
