Another springtime for Palestinians?

In his article No Springtime for Palestinians?, Sol Stern asks a vital, and heretofore unasked question: "Do not the Palestinians, at least as much as any of the other peoples of the Middle East, need a new beginning of consensual government?"

I wouldn't mention my first, knee-jerk response to this question. If you promise to read the article.

Nice analysis, the first of its kind I've seen, demonstrating Obama's hypocrisy. On the other hand, where are the Pals demonstrations against their tyrannies? Maybe there are none because they're happy with their dictatorships.

There won't be a Palestinian spring as long as the leaders will be able to convince their flock that "it's not us, it's the zionists!". Besides, they're so pampered by the multi-headed monster pompously called "the international community", they won't trade all the fuss and fun(ds) for something so zio-american as freedom.

I used to think Obama was evil. He's more stupid, though...

Was your first knee-jerk reaction "they like it rough"? (speaking of consensual...)

Yeah, but there is another side to that issue. Hoping for a more democratic outcome from any "revolution" in West Band and/or Gaza is... oh wel...

The response was (still is) unprintable, but you have described quite precisely its cause.
