Norm argues against a hasty pullout from Iraq, finding fault with some people's reading of NIE.

The NIE states: "We assess that the Iraq conflict has become the cause celebre for jihadists." Well, let's assume that's correct. My question is: And? What follows from that assessment?

I am afraid, Norm, that people who use NIE in a certain way understand quite clearly what follows from that assessment. They just don't give a damn.

Israel is also a cause celebre for jihadists. Does that mean we should abandon it?

I am afraid we both know what these same people will answer...
