IDF general urges army chief to quit his post over 'failure' of war, says the headline in Haaretz today.
IDF Major General Yiftah Ron-Tal, in a rare departure from serving officers' customary avoidance of political statements in public, said Wednesday that Chief of Staff Dan Halutz should take responsibility for the failure of the war with Hezbollah, and quit their post.It seems to become a tradition in IDF that senior officers start shooting their mouths off close to the date of retirement. Akin to a monk leaving his monastery and breaking the vow of silence.
Don't they have no wives or something for the relief of that unbearable urge?
Update: Chief of Staff has finally made a decision we wholeheartedly applaud: the motormouth goes home.
