Jerusalem Day in Iran

When you page through the photographs UPI presents from this Tehran love-in, you shall undoubtedly imbue some of the loverly feelings. How can you not, seeing scenes like this one:

One detail, though, just a technicality actually - the caption under that picture says:
An Iranian woman holds a pictures of Imam Musa Sadr and wear a sign with a picture of American president Barack Obama on swastika...
Well, swastika is just one of the symbols there, my sharp eyes detect another one...

If it's any consolation I do know a number of  Iranians who do not support his day and certainly were not out in Tehran for this day

A picture of a jewish star on a swastika, with Obama on top.

Let's ignore Obama for a while (hopefully starting next year we can ignore Obama period).

Jewish star on a swastika means "jews are as bad as nazis". But...guess who organized a Holocaust denial conference? In farsi, no less? Jeez, I wish those people make up their minds already. Have the nazis been good, or bad? Are the jews as bad as the good nazis, or as good as the bad nazis?

Let's see. We're doing stuff nazis never did to us, but we're being labeled nazis for doing stuff nazis never did. I need Freud, and a hug.

Of course it's clear that a good part of Iranians are not into this madness. Is it a consolation - hardly.

Freud is dead, I have to tell you. Hug is possible.

<span>Alas, Obamalot is likely to be around for another four years after 2012. Very few incumbents who run again have been beaten. Carter and Bush Sr. being the only recent examples. And neither of them had the advantage Obamalot does in the US's racial fixation.

I wonder how she feels wearing that chador in 90+ degree heat.  I guess intelligence and fashion sense do go together.

Yeah... and the second term will be much more interesting, when the POTUS have nothing to lose.

On the other hand, it protects against the sun, so no need for all these sunscreen creams.

The way the headgear drapes over the sign is a bit odd.
Is there some photo-trickery or attempted photo-trickery at work here?

Could be, it's UPI after all, but I have a difficulty seeing the point of it.

Got you. I think you may be right on that, it could be hung on a short piece of string or something, so its upper part is hid under the headscraf.

Interesting is one way to put it.
