ATF's Fast and Furious - stand aside, please, DEA was there first

Of course, it has become a cliche thing to make fun of the three-letter bumblers* of the federal ilk. And, of course, each current administration in turn is blamed as if it's the one that invented the art of stepping on its own bits. But it is far from being true. Fast and Furious is just one of the latest, but far from the first, epic fails. Here comes a hilarious story about the "civilian" use of the famous spy plane U-2, taken from an amazing book by Ben R. Rich and Leo Janos: Skunk Works: A Personal Memoir of My Years of Lockheed**. Enjoy (but click on it first for legibility).

(*) Our own bumblers, unfortunately, don't have such easy three letter names. But I can assure you all, we have enough of that too. Starting with... oh, what the heck.

(**) If you don't get excited by what is arguably the greatest aerospace enterprise in human history, Lockheed Skunk Works, this book is not for you.
